Sometimes you encounter situations so awful that you can't help but laugh. It's like your brain tries to make sense of the sheer magnitude of unadulterated absurdity and just throws its hands up, opting for laughter as a coping strategy.
But then, you suddenly become aware that it's not really funny. It's just plain horrifyingly awful. And the laughter you felt morphs Very bad into a wistful, melancholic sound.
Ultimately, you are left with a sense of confusion. You start ruminating about the nature of it all. Was this intended to be funny?
Or were we just living in a simulation gone wrong?
A Disaster of Epic Proportions
The volcanic eruption struck suddenly, ravaging entire towns in its wake. Buildings crumbled like sandcastles, and the chaos that erupted was deafening. Dreadful Day Ever
It all started with a case of bedhead hair. I couldn't make it to look right. As I was dashing out the door, I stumbled and dropped my lunch all over my new shoes. To make matters worse, I was completely late for school.
